What I Got For Christmas!

As promised, I'm back with what I got for Christmas! This isn't everything I received, and I am in no way bragging about what I received! I like reading these posts, and watching these youtube videos so I thought I'd also participate, as well.

The first thing I want to show you is from my Mum, and it is this enormous bedspread! It is kingsize and has a different design on each side and it is so cute and cosy, and I believe this was from BHS. It will also make an excellent background for blog photos!
Next is all the jewellery I received! I don't normally receive jewellery, but this year I received the necklace on the left from Richard, as well as the ring, and the other two items are from my mum and I've worn them all together!

I have one question, and that is, is it possible to fall in love with an eyeshadow palette? I've never been a big eyeshadow wearer, however, this has changed it all! I asked for this one specifically from my dad, as we all know the original of something is always the best, and it is also the palette I knew I'd get the Tmost wear out of! It is so stunning and the eyeshadows blend beautifully!

My mum bought me Vera Wang Pink Princess, and the Katy Perry perfume! The Vera Wang has always been my everyday perfume, and I receive at least one every birthday or Christmas! I love the bottle as well, it's so sparkly! My dad also bought me Honey by Marc Jacobs. I am slowly working my way through all the Marc Jacobs perfumes, trying to choose a favourite, but it's just so difficult, they're all stunning!

Because Cerys has just started her first job, she's gone a bit mad with the Christmas presents this year, so the two of us are going to see While She Sleeps in Birmingham on her birthday! Which, of course, means me driving (booooo) and she also bought me a Soap & Glory Body Butter set!
I only received two CDs this year, which is weird for me, but there wasn't anything else I REALLY wanted that I didn't already have or Richard didn't have! However, we do now both own Beartooth, but he only asked for it because it was in the top 10 of the best albums of the year in Rock Sound (he collects them every year)

My dad bought me two Benefit gift sets, plus the full size They're Real mascara, so now I basically have two full sized mascaras, and it has very quickly become my favourite! This set also comes with Hoola bronzer, which I'm also really liking, High Beam, and other bits. To go with all the makeup I asked for, my dad also bought me almost the full collection of the Real Techniques brushes, so my makeup brush pot is finally starting to fill up!

I received two nail varnish sets this year, which is something I love receiving, especially now I can have painted nails for work! At the moment I do have false nails on, so once I take them off, I will try the polishes and potentially review each set!

As everyone who knows me well will know, I am obsessed with drinking tea, and with singing every single song from the Frozen soundtrack, so my mum bought me a frozen mug! I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to take it into work or keep it at home, as I currently have my Despicable Me mug at work (the obsession for Despicable Me is even more than Frozen, but not quite as much as pugs!)
Speaking of pugs, Richard's parents bought me this adorable pug cosmetics bag, as well as wrapping up some little Sanctuary goodies inside, which was lovely of them!
Another obsession of mine is The Nightmare Before Christmas (I could watch it any time of year) Every year I receive something TNBC! I've had all sorts over the years, especially when I was younger and in my emo phase! This year my mum picked up these nail files from the pound shop, and I believe they are still available, and what she didn't know is that I'd also picked up the Jack Skellington mirror to go with these the other week!
Richard's Grandparents bought me this lovely keyring with my name on it, as well as a coaster with my name on! It's so sweet of them, as I've never even met them! The keyring came at the right time, as well, as mine, which was a photo of Richard and I on our first proper date, broke a few weeks ago, so there was nothing separating my front door key from the keys for his flat, and they're all pretty much identical!
The last thing I am going to show you is my new jacket! It is fake leather and I chose it myself from Matalan! I was going to buy it myself, as it was reduced a few weeks before Christmas, however, when I picked it up, mum decided to buy it me and put it away for Christmas!

I did also have a vintage dressing table from my mum, as well as lots of other bits and pieces, however this post is already incredibly long so I won't show it all, and I want to do a whole post on the dressing table when I have organised it how I want it! I am so grateful for everything I received and for the time I got to spend with all my family!

I should also have a little haul coming up very soon, as I went shopping in the sales (although I only bought 1 item actually in the sales in the end) today, so that should be up within a few days!

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this and I hope to see you again soon!

Family Time!

My sister and I split our time between our Mum's and Dad's this year for Christmas! We usually alternate each year, however this year we had Christmas dinner with Mum on Christmas Eve, and woke up at Mum's on Christmas Day, then went round to Dad's in the afternoon for dinner and stayed over. The biggest advantage of your parents no longer being together is that you get two sets of presents for birthdays and Christmas (this has been the case for us for about 13? years) Usually I am the first one out of me and my sister to wake up (that's everyday, not just Christmas) however, this year she beat me to it and she woke me up for a change! I woke up at about 8:45 and we went downstairs to open all our presents (I will be doing a What I Got For Christmas once I've had a chance to take the photos, as this is the first time I've sat down, as I'm writing these million posts) and we were well and truly spoilt and lucky! We had crumpets for breakfast and got ready for the day slowly.

About 1 we headed over to Dad's and had Christmas dinner before opening our presents, where we were again spoilt rotten (I'm not giving anything away you'll have to read my next post to see what I received) We had naps on the sofa and ate sweets and chocolate before heading off to my Aunty's to see all my cousins and Grandparents! I love seeing children at Christmas because they get so excited!

Present pile from my Mum and her side of the family!

My Christmas Day outfit is the same dress as I wore for Richard's birthday meal last weekend (Primark, £10) my Radley watch, black tights and New Look cut out T-bar shoes (sale £9)

Cerys waiting for her Christmas dinner!

All the cousins and the Grandparents! From the left: Grandad Les, me, Cerys, Ellis, Mamar Eileen, Kiah and on the bottom: Myla, Livvy and Remy-Mae.

On Boxing Day Mum was having everyone round so I went home so I could get the opportunity to see the baby in the family, Toby! He's so chunky and cute, and after we took him out on his little bike where he just chilled whilst he was being pushed around he fell fast asleep on me for over half an hour! (I really want a baby right now and I tell Richard on a daily basis). He's not even 6 months old yet but he's such a big baby and he has the most beautiful smile!

This last photo of him doesn't even look like the same baby, but how cute is he! I get to see him on Sunday, as well, as we are all going out for a carvery!

My What I Got For Christmas Post will probably be up either tomorrow or Sunday (it's 9:32pm here as I'm writing this and it's been snowing so I want to go out and play!)

Thank you for reading and I hope to see you again next time!

Becoming a Princess

I have spoken before about having a weave, and I decided it was about time mine made a return, as you will have seen in my last post! If you don't know what a weave is, it is where rows of your hair are cainrowed (plaited tight to the head) and wefts of hair are then sewn to them! The first time I had a weave in April 2014, my hair was quite long but incredibly thin, and we could only use half a pack of the hair extensions! This time, my hair has become so thick from having a weave (as you don't style your own hair, so it stays healthy) that we used two whole packs of hair, which is insane! If you don't already follow her on Instagram, you really should (HAIRBYJESSICAX) she's incredible and her transformations are just insane! She's also such a sweet person and she's literally the only person I'll let touch my hair! You can see what an incredible job she did on my hair, and it is so easy to style! The middle photo was taken a week before my weave (3 weeks ago) and the two at the sides were taken the day after (just under 2 weeks ago). I love it so much, and honestly, once you have a weave I don't think you'd go back! Yes it does hurt a little at first, as it is very tight, but after the first day the pain is barely noticeable and after a few days it's gone completely! (and it is SO worth it). It costs £40 for Jess to weave the hair, if you provide the hair yourself, and if you choose to have Beautyworks hair, it can cost from £130 upwards, with a free consultation! If you have short hair, or thin hair, and want a more semi permanent solution that doesn't rip your hair out (I've tried bonds, trust me, they do, no matter what people say) then I say go for it! It lasts between a month to two months and it makes such a pleasant change from clip-ins! I had some clip-ins recently between appointments and it was so much worse than I remember, I could never do it long term again! I clipped hair extensions in most days for 5 years and honestly this is the best alternative I have tried!

Thank you for reading and I hope to see you again soon!

Richard's Birthday weekend and OOTN

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and received everything you wished for, and also spend lovely quality time with your loved ones! It feels like I've been away for absolutely ages because my 12 Songs of Christmas posts were all queued, as I knew I'd be very busy! I thought I'd do an update on what I've been up to this week, as it has been jam packed (well for me, anyway, I don't really get out all that much! ) so this is my first post in my updates!

Last Saturday was Richard's birthday, so all his uni friends came up for the weekend. On the Friday night we just chilled out whilst they all had a few drinks, but then Saturday we went out for a meal! We went to the Water's Edge on Castle Marina, and there were 8 of us! Richard had a 20oz steak and I had macaroni cheese.

I wore this Primark dress with was £10, with my New Look coat I bought in the sale during the summer for £17, black tights, silver jewelled necklace from Primark and my black cut out t-bar shoes from New Look, which were £22.99, but are now in the sale for £9 (I'm gutted I paid full price for them, I love a good bargain!)
Makeup wise I wore my usual eyeliner, and added gold toned eyeshadow to the lid and a gold-brown into the crease, and on my lips I'm wearing the Rimmel Apocalips in Apocaliptic!

We played pass the Santa hat!

Watching drunk people play Twister when you're sober is the best thing I've ever witnessed in my life!

So that was my Saturday night last weekend, I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope to see you again soon!

12 Songs of Christmas-1

It's Christmas Day!! Merry Christmas everybody! I wish you a lovely day filled with happiness, joy and lots of food. It is only right to finish off this little series of blog posts with Michael Buble again! This time I have chosen the song I have played every single day in December without fail (and most of November, as well, if I'm being completely honest with you, much to Richard's dismay! But it is It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas! I love this song so much, Michael Buble's voice,as I previously said, is just so sexy, and he just cheers me up and brings back my Christmas spirit if I start to lose it at all!

12 Songs of Christmas-2

It's the big day tomorrow! I'm quite sad today, though as Richard goes back to his parents tonight for Christmas day. I know it's only one day and I get him the rest of the year, but it still feels wrong not getting to spend Christmas with the person you love! Nevermind, though, we have next year! My number 2 is All I Want For Christmas Is You- My Chemical Romance. Those who know me should've known there was no way I wasn't going to include this song! My Chemical Romance are my favourite band, and Gerard Way is my one true love (sorry Richard) so it would only be right they're near the top

12 Songs of Christmas-3

Literally can not believe I am down to number 3!! It's so exciting. Christmas is my favourite time of year, and it will be even better this year, as I have 10 days off because my work closes! Anyway, number 3 is Baby It's Cold Outside by Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews. Tom Jones is just incredible, and Cerys Matthews is someone I've been forced to like as I've grown up, and my younger sister is named after her.

12 Songs of Christmas-4

We're down to number 4 of my 12 songs of Christmas, which means it's nearly the big day!! My number 4 is Aled Jones with Walking In The Air. The Snowman is one of my favourite films, it's just so cute!! And I just can't imagine the Aled Jones we now see on TV being the little boy that sings this song!

12 Songs of Christmas- 7

Next up is number 7 and it's The Darkness- Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End). I remember the first time I heard this, back in the days when I used to watch Kerrang! religiously on the TV after school, in my ultra emo phase, and I was already obsessed with The Darkness. They've always been a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, and I just think they're hilarious!

12 Songs of Christmas- 8

Number 8 of my 12 songs of Christmas is one everyone knows and loves! It is Fairytale of New York- The Pogues. It's such a classic song and it makes me so happy to hear. It doesn't feel like Christmas time until I've heard this song!

12 Songs of Christmas-9

Number 9 on my list is White Christmas by Bing Crosby. I have such nice memories of singing this song in primary school, and in part of the school choir. Every year we did a performance for all the parents, and also one at the Church where I live, and although I'm not religious, I have such nice memories from being a child of this song, and Christmas time in general.

12 Songs of Christmas-10

For number 10 of my 12 songs of Christmas, we have Michael Buble- Santa Baby! I just love Michael Buble he's such a beautiful man with such a sexy voice and we listen to his Christmas album every year whilst decorating the Christmas tree! (mainly because I force everybody to)

12 Songs Of Christmas- 12

I decided to do a 12 Songs Of Christmas, so I will be posting a Christmas song I like every day leading to Christmas, and Christmas day, and also a link to listen to it on Youtube! I just thought it was a fun little idea and hopefully it will get some people in the Christmas spirit!

So my number 12 is Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! by Frank Sinatra

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGRC2LYmHfU

It's such a lovely song, and Frank Sinatra's voice is just beautiful!

NOTD

I've just painted my nails so I thought I'd share them with you all! They're so sparkly and Christmassy and cute! I'm wearing the Barry M Base & Top Coat, Barry M Nail Paint in Black, No 7 in Salsa on my accent nail, will the Barry M Nail Paint in 340, which is a nail varnish completely made up of gold glitter flecks, and I think it was limited edition last year in Superdrug, but there are so many out this year that look the same/very similar!

I would like to apologise, yet again, for the quality of these photos. I have taken them on my phone as I am not very well and my camera is upstairs and, well, to be honest, when I'm not very well I can't be bothered to do anything! I have had a whole week of normal black nails with the glittery red one, but I decided to add glitter to all my nails, as for some reason, the glitter doesn't chip as easy and I'm incredibly lazy!

My Top 10 Favourite Blogs!

Today I thought I'd share my top 10 favourite blogs. I spend a lot of my free time reading other peoples' blogs and watching youtube videos. They are in no particular order, they are just my favourites!

2. Jenni From The Block
3. Becca Rose
4. Arabella Golby
5. Lily Melrose
6. Melonlady (Helen Anderson)
7. Sprinkle of Glitter
8. Zoella
9. Velvetgh0st
10. Tanya Burr

Making Christmas Cards

I've decided that this year I would make my own Christmas cards, rather than buying some, as I thought it would make it more special. I know they are not the best, and their still not finished, and I need to make A LOT more, but I've enjoyed making them and it's the thought that counts! I haven't done anything crafty in a while, and it feels so nice!

It's incredibly easy to do and it feels nice to give someone something so personally and I'm fairly happy with how most of them turned out, especially as they've all been made whilst I've been off work ill.

Thanks for reading and I hope to see you again soon
