Life With A Dog

Hi everyone!

As I briefly mentioned a while back, I have a puppy called Riley. He's a pug cross and he's the best thing that could've happened to us. He's completely turned our lives upside down and I wouldn't change a thing. Yesterday he turned 8 months old so I thought I'd celebrate by sharing the things I've learned since we got him...

1. You can't take unconditional love for granted
Where else in your life are you going to find someone who loves you no matter what? We constantly trip over him because he's always running under our feet and no matter how many times we trip over and catch his foot he still loves us no matter what.

2. Always appreciate a good nap
As he's still a puppy, he sleeps A LOT. He's asleep next to me as I type right now. He's such an angel. With the hours I have to work, I am always tired and we love sharing a good nap together. It's especially cute to just watch him nap though.

3. You will get a lot more exercise
No matter the weather, your dog needs to go on a walk. Mon-Fri Richard takes him out no matter what before work. If I'm off, we like to go on long walks with Emily and her Springer Max. Riley doesn't require a lot of walking because he's so small but he loves chasing after Max across a field.

4. You have your own little guard dog!
Right now we're working on his barking. He barks at EVERYTHING! He barks if someones phone rings, he barks at the door, he barks at the oven timer, he barks if someone walks past the living room window. He even barks if someones phone rings on the tv. But he's still so cute!

5. You will appreciate the countryside a lot more
Taking RIley out in the countryside makes me so happy. It's the perfect time to help clear my head.

6. You will spend so much money
Wherever I go, if I see treats that he'd like or toys, I buy them. My house has been completely taken over by dog toys but I can't help myself! Making him happy makes me so happy.

The Procrastinating Beauty Blogger Tag!

Hey everyone, I said I'd try and post more so here I am, back with a tag!

1. Name a beauty regime that you rarely do?
I know its terrible but I rarely complete a full cleanse!
2. Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?
I try to but it definitely slips by the way side very often!
3. How long will you last with chipped nail polish?
If it chips, I just remove it straight away. However because of my job, I rarely get to paint them, unfortunately.
4. How long will you put off buying/replacing a beauty product, even if you need it?
If I start to run out of something I just order online if possible! I hate being harassed by the shop assistants so much.
5. What is your worst beauty habit?
My worst beauty habit is definitely not cleaning my brushes properly. I'm so bad at remembering to do it.
6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time?
I definitely put off doing the washing, as I know if I put it off Richard will end up doing it for me.
7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready to the last minute?
Never! I know how long it takes me to get ready. And if I'm going out out it takes me literally forever to get ready! Richard always moans at me for just how long it takes me!!
8. Can you commit to spending bans?
Never! I really need to save money but the more I know I need to save the worse I am at saving. I just love spending money!
9. How organised are your makeup and nail polish collections?
I'll go through phases. My nail polish collection is always organised but makeup, not so much! It all has a place, but because my hours are so all over the place it just becomes so disorganised.

See you again soon!

UPDATE: Where have I been?

So I've been away for about 9 months and I'm not sure how that's happened! Where have I been?

I moved house! Richard and I decided we'd outgrown our wonderful flat and in July we moved into a house. It's absolutely massive and completely unnecessary! We have 2 bedrooms, a basement room and a loft conversion, as well! It's insane!

We also bought a dog! We are now the proud owners of a beautiful pug called Riley (who as I write this is lying next to me making one of his toys squeak incessantly)

I'm being promoted! I've had a lot of work to do out of work towards my promotion, which has taken up a lot of my time, as well as working a rolling shift pattern which I'm still really struggling with!

I'm making no promises but as I am off work just me and doggo today I decided I'd write this quick update and include this photo of my gorgeous pup!

Collective Haul

Hi everyone! I'm back again with a haul of some bits I've bought over the last month! When you're not at work because of surgery but you need to get out the house what else can you do but shop? There's a mix of Primark, Matalan, Tesco and some makeup, as well.
The first item is this turtle neck red jumper from Primark, which was £8. I have this in green and grey already (which featured in my Primark Haul in October) and I loved them so much because they're so comfy I decided to pick up another!
Next I have this amazing A-line skirt from Tesco, which was £12. The only thing I'm not too happy with is that the pockets aren't real!
Next is this skirt from Matalan, which was £14! This one is more bodycon but it is so stretchy and comfortable, and looks good with the red jumper tucked in, black tights and boots.
Next is this sparkly jumper, from Primark, which I wore on Boxing Day. I can't remember exactly but I think it was £10, but it is really comfortable, and not at all itchy, which is something I worried about, and they had it in grey and green and a few other colours, as well.
This scarf from Primark is one of my favourite buys! It was £5, and the girl at the till told me that they have exactly the same one in New Look for £15, which she bought a week before she saw this in store!
As one of my New Years Resolutions involves the gym, I decided to pick up some more gym gear, and Primark gym gear is so comfy and I don't see the point in spending a fortune on it when this is good enough! All their three quarter gym leggings are £7 and most have a pocket on the bum ( although these and the ones below are annoying as they don't fit my phone, whereas my older ones do!)
These are my favourite out of the two I picked up, although when I first bought them I had to take them back! I picked up what I thought were a 14, and when I got them home took them out of the bag to put away and saw they were a 6, but because they were folded over on the hanger I had no idea until I got them back as I'm an idiot and didn't check the label!
This gym top is so comfy and I always feel more motivated when I'm wearing brighter colours in the gym. This one was £6.
This is a vest top with a crop over the top,and I believe this one was £6, as well. I haven't worn this one yet, though.
Onto makeup, I have the Revolution Iconic Pro 1 palette, which I absolutely adore.
I also have the Iconic Pro 2 palette, which I don't love as much, but I do still love, and they are both supposed to be dupes for the Lorac Pro palettes!
I LOVE this blush palette from Makeup Revolution! It's absolutely stunning. I got the one in Sugar & Spice, and I think my favourite so far is the top left.
I also picked up some Collection products with a Boots voucher I received for Christmas. The eyeliner and foundation are favourites of mine anyway, and I always re purchase, but I'm on the hunt for a new mascara so I thought I'd give this a go at £2.99 and so far it's okay but it's definitely no They're Real.
Next are these two Rimmel Provocalips. I love the one in Make Your Move (so much so I got three for Christmas) that I thought I should try some other shades. I picked up Skinny Dipping, which on reflection I think is a bit pale for me, and Berry Seductive.
And finally from Primark I picked up some elastic hair ties, new false nails and these two lips colours in Nude and Purple. They're Matt Lipstick Crayons and I've only worn the nude one so far, but it felt nice on the lips, though it did wear quickly.

That's everything I bought! I hope you enjoyed this and I'll see you all again soon!
